The War And Treaty

The War and Treaty is an American husband-and-wife duo from Albion, Michigan, consisting of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter. Their music blends elements of soul, gospel, country, and rock, creating a unique sound that has garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

Since their formation in 2014, The War and Treaty have released several albums, including “Healing Tide” (2018), “Hearts Town” (2020), and “Lover’s Game” (2023). Their collaboration with Zach Bryan on the song “Hey Driver” reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2023, they made history as the first Black duo to be nominated for the Country Music Association Award for Duo of the Year. They have also received two Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist.
