Prof, born Jacob Lukas Anderson on April 29, 1984, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an American rapper, singer, and record producer known for his energetic performances and distinctive blend of humor and introspection in his music. He began his career in the early 2000s, releasing his debut album, *Project Gampo*, in 2007.

In 2015, Prof signed with Rhymesayers Entertainment and released *Liability*, which peaked at number 141 on the Billboard 200 chart. He left Rhymesayers in 2020 and continued his career independently through his own label, Stophouse Music Group. His seventh studio album, *Horse*, released in April 2023, reached number 111 on the Billboard 200 chart.
