RAF formed in late 2007 as the conglomerate of several long time heavy rock n roll bands from Norman, OK. In February 2008, RAF self-released an eponymous demo EP. A year later they began work on a full length album Believers In Medicine which was released in April 2010 on Guestroom Records Records (GRR). They followed up with their second full length on GRR in 2014 with the release of Waves Ahead of the Ocean, which was internationally distributed by Cargo Records UK. All three releases were recorded at the legendary Bell Labs recording studio (engineered and mixed by Trent Bell of Chainsaw Kittens fame) in Norman, OK.
RAF has been steeped in the regional festival circuit and playing continuously as direct support for headlining bands of similar ilk such as The Sword, Kylesa, St. Vitus, Pallbearer, Dead Meadow, High on Fire and Queensryche.
RAF is currently working on their fourth studio offering slated to be released Summer 2018.
Helen Kelter Skelter
A product of Norman, Oklahoma, Helen Kelter Skelter’s tonal variety is built upon a nostalgic yet contemporary take on rock and roll. While the stylistic influences of each member span the spectrum of genres, their collective sound unifies and touches a vein of psychedelic rock, offering a multifaceted sonic peppering that ranges from pull-the-rug-out gut punches to heartwarmingly-wobbly waltzes. As the critics have said, “Helen Kelter Skelter is everything that’s cool about rock and roll."
